Before changing anything on your vape, you need to identify all the components of an e-cigarette. In fact, there are several models of electronic cigarettes, but they all operate on the same principle, which is ensured by the same elements. The main components of an electronic cigarette are:
- a tank containing e-liquid;
- a nebulizer (coil, clearomizer);
- a mouthpiece;
- a battery;
- a vaping liquid.
Clearomizer is referred to when the system is supplied with wicks that lead to hotter vapors at the top of the tank and create cooler vapors at the bottom of the tank. Other atomizers allow the vaper to adjust the wicks or coils for proper vaping.

- clean the other components before reassembling your coil;
- soak the roll with your e-liquid using a dropper;
- reassemble the coil and fill the atomizer;
- wait 10 minutes before vaping.
If access to the wick is at the top, the top part should be from the tank and follow the same replacement instructions.
Different Types of Electronic Cigarette Wicks
There is a lot of talk about electronic cigarette wicks, but the most commonly used are those made of organic cotton, which come in the form of a rope or a ball. The advantage of a cotton wick is its price, which is practically the cheapest.
There are also other vapers who prefer to bake the cotton for a few minutes to avoid any chemical treatment that the cotton may be subjected to.
Other vapers use rayon wicks, which are classified as semi-synthetic compositions due to organic materials. A rayon wick does not accumulate as much residue as a cotton wick, which reduces the frequency of replacement.
Other wicks exist in the world of vapers, such as untreated Japanese cotton wicks; and the so-called Ekowool silica wicks, which are produced in the form of braided cords.
Note that the atomizer should be cleaned frequently. Most components of an electronic cigarette can be cleaned with a damp cloth, except for the coil, which is a device that should not come into contact with water.
